AirTran Airways launched a 2-day systemwide sale today. Fares start at $49 each way to more than 50 cities across the U.S. Many airlines recently raised fares to offset fuel costs. We found these sale fares to be some of the best in the market. Book summer trips now, because prices are likely to increase even more. This sale is valid for travel all the way from March 29 - Nov. 4. We found the lowest fares available for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Fares on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays are slightly higher. Blackout Dates: May 22-23, 26; June 27-28; July 3, 6. Special rules apply, so be sure to see full details if you're flying to/from Boston, Burlington, Vermont, San Antonio or Seattle. All fares are one-way. All fares are non-refundable and a $75 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase, plus any applicable increase in airfare. Reservations may be obtained or changed through an AirTran Airways Telephone Reservations Center for an additional $10 per person. Tickets must be purchased by March 20, 2008. Sale fares are valid for travel from March 29, 2008 through November 4, 2008. Sale fares for travel between Las Vegas and Bloomington/Normal, Akron/Canton, Dayton, Flint, Moline/Quad Cities, and Rochester are valid on nonstop flights only. Nonstop service between Las Vegas to Bloomington/Normal, Moline/Quad Cities, Dayton, and Akron/Canton ends April 8, 2008. Lowest sales are valid for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Additional sale fares are valid for travel on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Seats are limited, subject to availability, and may not be available on all flights. Blackout dates are as follows: May 22, 23, 26, 2008; June 27, 28, 2008; and July 3, 6, 2008. In addition, fares are not valid for travel from Boston: April 17-21, 2008 and are not valid for travel to Boston: April 24-28, 2008. Service to/from Seattle begins May 6, 2008. Service to/from Burlington, VT begins May 21, 2008. Service to/from San Antonio begins June 11, 2008. Fares, routes, and schedules are subject to change without notice. Fares do not include per-segment tax of $3.50. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 is not included. Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 are not included. Fares to/from Puerto Rico do not include additional government taxes of up to $30.80.
